A first of its kind, the Hot Box Original is a universal heating solution for campers, roof top tents, trailers or any area that you need heated! This particular configuration is flexible enough that you only need a flexible tube to connect the heater to the area you'd like to control. It uses the same control unit as the Hot Box Camper, but doesn't need to be mounted anywhere permanently.

What makes this product unique is the small packaging, premium components used, and the well-thought-out implementation of the design. Over 2 years of trial and error testing was spent during overland and offroading adventures to arrive at the perfect design. Problems were found, which led to solutions. The case is an attractive and durable aluminum sealed Zarges K470 case that has been modified to house the most reliable heating unit on the market - an appropriately sized Eberspacher/Espar DL 2.2kw unit. This unit will comfortably heat a roof top tent, truck bed camper, or interior of a vehicle with incredibly low fuel and power consumption.

There are a number of fundamental differences between these heating units, and the infamous “Chinese diesel heaters” available everywhere.

This unit is made to survive the environments and for that, build quality is of paramount importance. These units are water sealed and have been tested through winter, rain downpours, and even car-wash pressure washers. Inside the case, you'll find the D2L Espar heating unit. These units come with a completely sealed ECU vs competitor open circuit cards. This allows reliable operation in incliment weather as all heating units of this design blow the inlet air directly across these components. This unit also comes with a completely silent fuel pump - no more clicking! (It may click when priming, however when running it's completely silent). In terms of altitude performance, these come with pressure sensors to provide reliable operation up to 13k feet!

Configurations

One of the unique aspects of this product is the ability to customize the configuration depending on your use-case. The Hot Box Original is as universal as it gets. TwoTrackNation can even mount it in an all-in-one portable configuration that is able to hang off the side of your tent while in use (as seen in photos). This particular configuration is a smaller box than seen on the GX, and is the same size as the Hot Box Camper.

Have a larger heating requirement? Talk to us, we can double the size of the heating unit for a 4kw model. Our 4kw option also comes with higher altitude capabilities at up to 18,000ft! This unit is restricted to the larger case size seen on the GX on this page.

The Original configuration comes with a modified rotopax as the fuel tank. This can be mounted anywhere on your vehicle using the rotopax mount included. If you desire, the Rotopax can be swapped for the aluminum tanks that come with the Hot Box Camper.
